Today I saw a soldier
she was geared up and ready to go
my eyes saw a strong woman
my mind saw proud, graceful, and amazing
then tear drops started to flow
I know that she is my sister someone's daughter
she is a mother, she is someone's wife
even if it's a false agenda
she is ready to give her life

the world is precariously wicked
that it would take away her glow
she is standing on the front line
in time of trouble she is first to go
she is standing for us on the first line
I offer up thanks and a prayer
